Madico Introduces Another Industry First with ClearPlex NC, the World's First Solar Control Windshield Protection Film
New ClearPlex NC combines industry-leading windshield protection, 90% infrared heat rejection, easier installation, and the advantages of exterior solar control application.
Tampa Bay, FL. – November, 2026 – Madico, Inc., a global leader in advanced film solutions, announces the launch of ClearPlex® NC, the world's first windshield protection film to incorporate nano-ceramic solar control technology. Building on the success of ClearPlex, the world's first windshield protection film, ClearPlex NC marks another industry milestone by combining proven protection against rock chips and road debris with exceptional infrared heat rejection in one innovative product.
Two-in-One Protection: Windshield Protection and Solar Control
ClearPlex NC delivers two essential benefits in a single film: Windshield Protection + Heat Rejection. ClearPlex NC maintains the protective benefits of ClearPlex as a durable, exterior-applied barrier against rocks, road debris, and everyday hazards that can cause costly windshield damage. At the same time, advanced nano-ceramic technology delivers 90% infrared (IR) rejection, helping reduce solar heat entering the vehicle for a cooler and more comfortable cabin experience. ClearPlex NC also blocks 99% of harmful UV rays, helping protect vehicle interiors from fading and sun damage.
Easier Installation for Automotive Film Professionals
ClearPlex NC also introduces a significant advancement in installation efficiency. Engineered with improved heat-shrinking characteristics, the new film can be shrunk much like conventional automotive window tint. This enhanced workability simplifies installation and makes ClearPlex NC accessible to more professional automotive window film installers, helping shops expand their service offerings with less of a learning curve.
Exterior Application Reduces Interior Installation Risks
Unlike traditional automotive window tint applied to the inside of the windshield, ClearPlex NC is installed on the exterior glass surface. This eliminates the need to apply solar-control film to the interior windshield, helping installers avoid the potential risks associated with installation solution coming into contact with sensitive dashboard electronics and vehicle components. By combining solar control and physical windshield protection in one exterior-applied film, ClearPlex NC offers a practical alternative for installers seeking to deliver heat rejection without the risks of interior windshield tint installation.
"With ClearPlex NC, we've taken windshield protection to an entirely new level," said David Jensen, Global Business Manager – Automotive, at Madico. "We've combined proven windshield protection of ClearPlex with exceptional heat rejection, made the film easier to install, and addressed a significant concern for installers by bringing solar control to the exterior of the glass. This marks another example of Madico's commitment to developing innovative solutions that deliver real benefits to both installers and vehicle owners."
ClearPlex NC joins ClearPlex Contour in Madico's windshield protection portfolio, giving automotive restyling professionals two high-performance solutions to meet customer needs. Both products feature durable PET-based 4mil construction, patented scratch-resistant technology, and 99% UV protection, while ClearPlex NC adds advanced solar control capabilities for an elevated level of protection plus comfort.
With a legacy of more than 120 years of innovation, Madico continues to push the boundaries of film technology, delivering advanced solutions that protect vehicles, enhance comfort, and create new opportunities for automotive professionals.
